3D Printer Enclosure For Better Printing and Clarity

3D Printer Enclosure with Luzbot Printer
LiteWorld Protective Enclosure. Protect your health, improve your 3D printed object.

August 21, 2017 | By Don Musilli | In LiteWorld Protective Enclosure

3D Printing has moved from the quasi-experimental tinker mode to full-fledged production mode in just 6 short years. Novices and tinkerers are now using 3D printers to make virtually anything they can design. We are calling it the 4th Industrial Revolution.

If you are using a 3D Printer for the first time or you have been playing with the technology for a while you know that certain materials that print at high temperatures such as, ABS, Polycarbonate, Nylons and some PETG materials are affected by build platform temperatures as well as ambient room temperature.

Printing ABS and Polycarbonate with an enclosure around and over the printer will significantly reduce any warping or splitting of the object that is very common when doing large or tall prints using these materials. By using an enclosure like the LiteWorld Protective Enclosure you not only vastly improve your high temperature prints but also eliminate the gaseous odors produced when printing ABS or Polycarbonate at temperatures exceeding 240 Degress C.

The LPE from LiteWorld was designed originally to fit over the new TAZ 6 3D Printer with enough room to have two spools of filament in place, one on the top and one on the side. In addition all 4 sides and top are made from Plexiglass so you can view your printer in operation from any angle. The enclosure is 38″ wide 32: high and 30″ deep. It has two large doors on the front that open the entire width of the enclosure for ease of access to your printer. There is a fan that runs from your USB port on your computer and a carbon media filter along with a media filter for maintaining clean, filtered air that is entering the enclosure as you pull the odor from the unit. This also helps keep the interior temperature around 85 Degrees C no matter what temperatures you have on the extruder or build platform.

The LPE units have been in the market since January 2016 and many of them are used in Schools and other organizations where constant opening and closing of the doors occurs. These units have extruded aluminum frames, easy to assemble and they are a licensed Open Source product from Creative Commons. These units are made in the US and shipped in special packing materials to ensure no damage upon arrival.
