The 4th Industrial Revolution – Additive Manufacturing

There are few, if any companies around the world that are not now using or beginning to use 3D Printing or Additive Manufacturing in their operations. Certainly the medical and dental markets are moving at warp speed to adapt this technology to human health issues. The aerospace and aircraft companies along with Satellite builders are now incorporating this technology in making metal and composite parts for their air ships.
Couple this with the huge advancements being made by all the major materials developers like 3M, BASF, DuPont and many smaller players, the advancement of new composites, co-polymers and materials such as 3 dimensional graphene and Carbon nano tubes are now becoming a reality. The speed of innovation in the Additive realm is 100 times faster than the traditional methods of machining as companies new realize that they can develop and prototype parts, faster, stronger and with multiple changes in 1/100th the time.
The 4th Industrial Revolution revolving around new methods of making everything is expected to come into full bloom in less than 5 years. This means those students in High School will need to be competent in 3D modeling and 3D printing along with coding as the new era of Additive Manufacturing supplants traditional methods. There is already a large movement in Elementary and Middle schools to give students some experience with 3D printers and using simple 3D modeling software such as Tinkercad. There will be unlimited opportunities for individuals who can create objects with 3D modeling software that may not require a four year degree but more often than not a certificate or electronic badge from an on-line tutorial process.
Business leaders around the world are looking for those individuals that can adapt to the new technology demands that will be required to move into this next phase of the industrial revolution. Here are LiteWorld LLC we have been preparing students since 2012 to better understand the value of learning about 3D modeling and 3D printing.
