A Momentary Lapse of Reason

Starting another company in a technology that is still in its “innovative infancy” is a risk. Yet here I am stepping my toes into the 3D water and hoping there is more to this journey than watching filament extruding out of a nozzle to make yet another key chain.
I hope that is not the case. LiteWorld is a unique company formed from 25 years of manufacturing skills and four years of working with 3D Modeling and 3D Printing as a way to introduce students to the lost art of “making things.” The speed of advancement in 3D printing is astounding and this rush to making things faster and better and doing it with a sense of wonder and enjoyment is what hooked me and all the people that I have helped dip their toes into the 3D water.
To give this journey a high degree of being successful, LiteWorld has been able to become an authorized Reseller for one of the best US made 3D Printers, LulzBot TAZ units from Aleph Objects in Loveland, CO. These award winning machines are a major part of our 7 printers in our operation. In addition, LiteWorld, in conjunction with the company I started in 1985, has developed a new enclosure made from Plexiglas and aluminum that will easily cover any of the TAZ units and other 3D printers as well. These new enclosures have sold well right from the start.
In addition, LiteWorld is working closely with a recycled plastic company to attempt to make some ABS and PLA filament ( only a few colors ) for our customers. Tying this new technology to the environmental arena blends these two different technologies in a way I would not have imagined 4 years ago.
So, come join me on this journey. You will have an opportunity to follow us as we zig-zag our way through the “still cool” field of 3D Printing.
