In 2016 LiteWorld LLC introduced the LiteWorld Protective Enclosure that was designed specifically for the LulzBot TAZ 5 and 6 models as well as other large bed 3D Printers. The enclosure is made from 1/4″ plexiglass with aluminum support structures and two filters on the back of the housing. One filter is a carbon media filter and the other is a Merv 5 medial filter. The enclosure is 38″ wide, 32″ high and 30″ deep. It has two wide opening doors that open the entire width of the enclosure. The carbon media also has a 3 speed blower to pull air through the unit which enters on the opposite back side through the other media filter. This provides both particulate removal as well as odor control.
Some of the companies and organizations that have purchased our LiteWorld Protective Enclosure include: General Electric, Georgia State University, Hemlock Semi Conductor, M.I.T, Aleph Objects, Hawaii Baptist Academy and K2 Sports. These enclosures are extremely well built, easy to assemble and have undergone rigorous testing by hundreds of Elementary, Middle and High School students in school systems across the U.S. These enclosures are built to last.
One of the major benefits of using the LiteWorld Protective Enclosure is the ability to help maintain a constant temperature inside the enclosure even when printing materials such as Polycarbonate and Carbon Fiber that require high tool head nozzle temperatures ( above 290 C) and bed temperatures ( 110 C ). The enclosures ensure that no cold air drafts or chilled air from the HVAC sytem will affect the objects being printed especially materials like ABS, ASA, Nylon and Polycarbonate.
